Vernon Street Fair Apple Pie Eating Contest

We have two categories:

• Adults 13 and over

• Kids 12 and under

The pie eating contest involves eating an apple pie in a 10-minute time limit, with no hands allowed. Adult contestants are required to hold their hands behind their backs and eat a pie, and the kids will eat a smaller pie.

RULES

• NO HANDS MAY BE USED.

• Must Sign up by 9/8

• The first person, in each category, to finish the pie and stand upright in under 10 minutes will be the winner.

• Prizes awarded to the 1st Place Winner of each category.

• Judges will decide if the pie is completely finished.

• In the event of a tie, whichever contestant has the least amount of pie on them will be the winner.

• Any visible signs of sickness will result in a disqualification.

• Children under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian present during the contest.

• Contestants must show up to the Entertainment Tent (in front of the Vernon Firehouse) at the Street Fair on 9/13/25 by 1:20pm or forfeit their entry.

• Limited to the first 10 participants to sign up in each category.

• $5 Donation per Adult entry and $1 Donation per Child entry to be paid online at time of submitting form.

• One entry per person.

Apple Pie Eating Contest – Waiver & Release of Liability

By registering for and participating in the Vernon Chamber of Commerce Apple Pie Eating Contest, I hereby acknowledge, agree, and accept the following:

1. I understand that participation in a pie eating contest involves potential risks, including but not limited to choking, allergic reactions, or other medical issues.

2. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this contest.

3. I confirm that I do not have any medical conditions that would put me at risk during this activity.

4. I agree to follow all contest rules and instructions given by contest officials.

5. I understand that judges’ decisions are final.

6. I grant the Vernon Chamber of Commerce permission to use my name, likeness, and image for promotional purposes related to this event.

7. I release and hold harmless the Vernon Chamber of Commerce, its officers, members, volunteers, and sponsors from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of my participation in this contest.

8. I understand that participation is at my own risk and that the Vernon Chamber of Commerce does not provide medical insurance or coverage.

For Minors: If the participant is under 18, I, as the parent or legal guardian, consent to their participation in the Apple Pie Eating Contest. I assume all risks on their behalf and agree to the same terms, conditions, and release of liability listed above.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understood this waiver and agree to its terms. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18.
